Even before opening officially, the Toffee Club (named for Everton Football Club in England, not the candy) has already made a splash on Hawthorne by transforming a once sleazy and dilapidated building into a true English soccer pub. Run by a family, this pub’s unique approach will welcome kids into the mix as well as hardcore footie fanatics.
To celebrate their grand opening the owners will be throwing a big block party on June 11, and their nonprofit partner will be, you guessed it, Four Worlds United. The event is timed to kick off the summer’s big soccer tournaments: The Euro Championships and Copa America. Guests can look forward to multiple screens, street futsal tournaments, music, barbecue specials, drink offers, as well as a prize raffle and a few fun and easy ways to donate to 4WU.
